10 Percent of People

It is a business meme that 10 percent of people do 90 percent of the work (or 20/80). There is some truth to it but if we take it at a face value, it needs to be a fractal.

So in a team with 10 people it is 1 person doing 90 percent of work. But the team is part of an organization with 100 people. So the 10 people out of the 100 do 90 percent of the whole org work. Of course it does not mean that the concrete team does 90 percent of the total work, but lets say that for some reason in this team there are 3 people out of the 10, that are out of the 10 at the company doing 90 percent of the work of the org. And 1 o them is our original one.

So now you have ended up with 6 people basically useless at the original team and we have just 7 people left to distribute to rest o 9 teams (if we keep the same size). And 83 basically useless people.

Or are they useless? Do the company need the 10% done by the rest? Or is the 90% done by the 10 the most important?
