Religious people are often contempt with one book. Whole religion lasted for thousands of years just talking about the one book. People even disagree or interpret the same part of the same book differently, but they all think that the book is still relevant.
On the other hand, I often see on the other side with progressive and free thinking people, that even after few years we are burning, literally or metaphorically, something, that was just fine a few years ago.
Is it because the new stuff lack depth? Because we do not want to spend time reinterpreting and arguing and it is simpler to just burn it down and start anew? Or is it just delusional for the other side to still find meaning in something that on the first glance is totally out of date and unacceptable nowadays?
