Priority should be just one thing. It is the first thing to do. If you have multiple priorities, you do not have priorities. You can have multiple important stuff to do. You need to pick one priority and chase that, and delegate rest of the important stuff or do it later, after current priority is done.
You can have priority for a day, a week, a month, a year, a life. They should be aligned but a day priority might be an emergency unrelated to a year priority, or even a week priority.
It should just be conscious decision if the new emergency priority is the priority and not an important stuff that can be dealt with later after my week priority is done.
