You are never ready to have kids. And at the same time you are always ready. You will do with what you have. When you have little, you will behave differently than when you have savings, but you can do it. Especially in the western and rich part of the world.
People are having kids in much worse conditions and been having them in very bad conditions during all human history.
It is about priorities, as with everything. If you do not have kids, it is because you do not want them. Not because it is expensive to have them or hard to manage. If you want to have kids, you will manage to do it.
It will take sacrifices, but that is what wanting somethin means. If you want something and are not willing to sacrifice anything for it, you do not really want it.
