UX Forum
I was invited to speak about team leading and management to UX Forum and if you are into UX, this is the even to track and visit in Bratislava.
Banská Štiavnica
Very nice city, I recommend visiting outside main season during summer. 1–2 days are more than enough. Here are some places to go
- Pod Klopačkou – great breakfast and food in general, nice locatio and view
- ViNOCENTRUM Banská Štiavnica – the place to go if you like wine. Great owner, tastings, amazing local wines
- Botanical Garden – very nice setting inside a school, great trees and plants
Bratislava / Petržalka
Here are some places I like to visit in my city
- Petržalská hrádza – great place for biking, lots of places to stop for a beer or a playground. It extends beyond Bratislava and you can go to Austria or have a ride on a boat across the Danube with your bike.
- Veľký Draždiak – It is being continuously revitalized, great during summer to cool off and rest
- Monarchs – Our American football team playing Czech league. They are good, atmosphere during the matches is great
Farm & Camping Lazy
Second time we have visited. Great place for families, great owners. Animals, nature, playgrounds, camping.
Horná Nitra
We have visited my parents for a couple of months and here are some nice places in the area to spend time
- Farma pod Vtáčnikom – a farm where you can buy fresh milk, cheese or grab a beer next to sheep, cows etc.
- Technické Moto múzeum – a lot of automotive and historical items to see
- Múzeum chemického vojska – museum of chemical warfare in former army base
- Osemdesiatka – nice outdoor pub/public space where you can grab good beer, attend events etc.
- Thermal pool Chalmová – thermal pools, saunas, next to nice hills and cycle routes. It is getting better under new management
- Kostol sv. Anny – nice small historical church
- Remeselný pivovar BANÍK – local brewery in Handlová
- Casa Mia Pizza – Pasta – great Italian restaurant owned by Italian guy
- Bojnice – castle, ZOO, nice city, good places to eat, historical museums
- Indoor swimming pool – swimming pool in Prievidza, open daily
- Letohrádok Babylon – nice short hike to former nobility summer house
Bojná
- Bojná fort – reconstructed Slavic fort from dark ages, nice hike
- Ranč pod Babicou – nice ranch, good food, animals, would be nice to spend a couple of days
